With time being so precious to us, advertising agencies have realised, that every second is valuable in a marketing way. Now when you look round in restaurants, you see digital signage advertising “today’s” specials, cocktails, normally these are in the waiting areas. it is a known fact that this sort of advertising increases revenue, because the people waiting see the ads and think, “I have a cocktail while I am waiting”, when they sit down at their table they are tempted with the specials they saw on the ads and irrelevant of price will order them, unless they have an iron clad will!When we are in line at the checkout of a store, you are bombarded with ads, for products that are right at your finger tips. Guess, why the sweets are just the right (or wrong height) for a child? You guessed right, the store was designed like this, some stores actually pipe the smell of fresh baked bread, throughout the store just before the bread is ready to increase demand.Now there is something we all do and we are all “targets”, that is to go to the gas station and fill our cars or trucks up. we might do it once a week or every day, but the gas stations have realised that this is time when the person filling their car is susceptible to a “sales message, or a buying message”.Think back to the last time when you went to a gas station, you drove up and started to fill your car, then you saw the news on the outdoor digital sign, it just gives you some breaking news, telling you that 24 inches of snow has fallen in the next state in under 4 hours. You are still pondering on the breaking news story and then you see an ad for “magic ice”, you go in store to pay for your gas and pick up 2 bags of magic ice, to clear your drive, does this sound familiar?Now the gas stations have realised that they can have several revenue streams from integrating digital signage outdoors, they charge advertisers for sponsoring ads, whilst making extra revenue from the add – on sales, the digital signage makes for them.However, the outdoor signage solution has to be protected from the weather, snow, rain, sleet and direct sunlight. this is were an outdoor TV enclosure comes in, as it provides a safe environment for the signage hardware to be kept at the correct temperature and away from water, cold and the heat.
